2016 might seem like a year of endless celebrity deaths and terrible new stories. For former Bachelorette star, Jillian Harris, 2016 was pretty kind. Earlier this year Jillian announced her pregnancy and later gave birth to a son, named Leo, with her longtime boyfriend Justin Pasutto. People.com reports that Jillian and Justin have now announced their engagement.
Jillian first appeared on season 13 of The Bachelor when Jason Mesnick was the star and she finished in third place. She was then made The Bachelorette for season 5 where she got engaged Ed Swiderski, before breaking up with him a year later. Jillian and Justin have been dating for 4 years and she is currently the host of Love it or List It, Too.
Jillian announced her engagement on Christmas morning with an Instagram post of herself, Justin, their baby Leo and their two dogs. The caption reads, “Well THAT was SOME Christmas morning!!!!! OH MY GOD my heart cannot handle this much LOVE!” She added, referring to the engagement. “#Finally #ISimplyAskedForOneThingForChristmas”
Jillian and Justin announced her pregnancy in March 2016 and Leo was later born in August. At the time of her pregnancy, Jillian wrote about the first time she met Justin and their relationship as a whole on her blog.
She wrote: “I was 32 when we met, and Justin was a fresh ripe 24. BTW I SWEAR he told me he was 27, which I rounded up to 28… so in my mind we were basically the same age HAHA.
Our age difference was never really an issue for us, our love was always strong and very real and that’s all that mattered. But truth be told, I could have gotten knocked up with his baby on that second date and I probably would have been over the moon… haha… ok MAYBE too soon, but I WAS smitten.”
However the relationship started fans can mark this down as another happy relationship for a star of Bachelor Nation … after the show had wrapped.
Are you happy for Jillian? Are you surprised it took her this long to get engaged? What do you think of Justin and Jillian’s age difference?
The Bachelor season 21 will premiere Monday, January 1 at 8/7c on ABC.
