aking a look at Mouni Roy’s Instagram account is a part of our daily check-list. Yes, we snoop around if we want some fashion inspiration. Honestly that’s what most gals browse Mouni”s account for. Today, we saw a rather cute picture of her giving a kiss to producer Ekta Kapoor. We took a look at Ekta’s account and found a snap of the two with a caption that read…Someone is about to take a leaaaaap!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾 #webseries #mehrunisaa. Now, that is interesting? are we going to see Mouni in a Balaji ALT production based on the queen. We guess that’s most obvious!

It would indeed be a leap for the actress. A leap back in time of the Mughal era if the show is a historical. We know that Mouni is an avid reader and would definitely know a bit about the most politically active queen of the Mughal dynasty. The glamorous actress has struck gold as Shivangi in Naagin and Naagin 2 but it is surely time to explore something hatke. Mouni did a small cameo with a dance number in Tum Bin 2 and loves to explore different avenues. With her aura, beauty and dancing chops, Mouni is perfect to play Mehrunisaa, whom the world knows as Noor Jehan, the wife of Prince Salim/Jahangir. Folklore also links her to courtesan Anarkali, who inspired the classic Mughal-E-Azam.

Ekta is known to repeat actors and actresses with whom she shares a hit track record. Already, there is a lot of buzz about Kehte Hain Opposites Attract, the web-series featuring Sakshi Tanwar and Ram Kapoor. She is also making a modern gay love story Romil and Jugal. There is also a web-series on a female Devdas titled DevDD. And the biggest one is a story of a woman combat officer with Nimrat Kaur in the lead.

When Bollywood Life got in touch with Mouni Roy, she said, “It is just talks.” She further said that if something was actually happening then the news would not be out through social media. While we are unsure if Mehrunisaa with Mouni as the remarkable Mughal Queen will be actually made or not, the very thought of seeing Mouni in that role is so exciting. Do you feel the Naagin actress will make a perfect Mughal Queen? Do let us know with your comments.
