Dangal box office collection day 13: Aamir Khan’s film earns Rs 158.70 crore in the overseas market

Aamir Khan‘s Dangal has been doing really well at the box office since its release. The movie has not only broken a few records, but also set new benchmarks. But the business has not been restricted just to the domestic market. We had revealed to you that Dangal was performing tremendously well at the overseas markets and it had already crossed the Rs 150 crore in 12 days. On day 13, the movie continued to rake in the money, taking its total tally to Rs 158.70 crore. Talking about the collections, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Dangal – OVERSEAS – Total till Tue, 3 Jan: $ 23.31 million [Rs 158.70 cr]… Heading for $ 25 million before Week 2 concludes… EXCELLENT!”

As Taran mentioned, the film can easily hit the Rs 175 crore before Friday. Considering the limited release in the overseas market (1000 screens only), this figure is quite impressive. Obviously the holiday season helped Dangal achieve these numbers, but that is not the only factor. The movie in itself is fabulous. People have been raving about the story and the performances delivered by Aamir Khan, Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra and a few others. This positive word of mouth publicity has done wonders for the movie.

At the domestic box office, Dangal has emerged as the BIGGEST hit of 2016. Not only has it earned Rs 295.14 crore in 12 days, it is also set to beat Salman Khan‘s Sultan and become the highest grossing film of 2016. But that’s not the end of things. With no big release till January 13, Dangal will continue to rake in the money and we expect it touch the Rs 350 crore mark in its lifetime run.
