7 records broken by Aamir Khan’s Dangal in 12 days of its release


Dangal has collected Rs 295.14 crore in twelve days of its release. We expected the film to break the record of Salman Khan’s Sultan by the end of its day thirteen. Well, not just Sultan, Dangal is on course to beat the collections of Salman Khan’s another blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan, most probably by the end of its third weekend. And while we’ll get to know where it’ll reach by the end of its run, here are few records it has broken in just twelve days of its release.

# The film has become the highest grosser in Australia in just ten days of its release. Dangal A$ 2.22 mn in 12 days. beating Aamir Khan’s PK was A$ 2.11 mn.

# Highest day three as well as Sunday collection ever in India with Rs 42.35 crore beating Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s Rs 38.75 crore.

# Widest Indian release in North India with 331 screens.

# Highest grossing weekend for any Indian film in North America with USD 4 million (Rs 27.10 crore) with some screens yet to report.

# Dangal has so far collected Rs 158.70 crore in overseas market as of now.

# Dangal has also entered the list of top five worldwide collections of all time with Rs 525.67 crore till January 2, 2017.

# The second weekend of Dangal(Rs 72.58 crore) was bigger than week one of most of the films released in 2016, except Sultan (Rs 208.82 crore), Dangal (Rs 197.53 crore), M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story (Rs 94.13 crore), Rustom (Rs 90.9 crore), Airlift (Rs 83.5 crore), Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (Rs 80.19 crore), Housefull 3 (Rs 80.1 crore)
