New ‘Prison Break’ Trailer Teases Biggest Escape Yet

After nearly eight years, Prison Break is coming back to FOX. The new, 9-episode reboot will feature most of the original cast with a new mission that could be the most difficult escape yet for brothers Michael and Lincoln.

The new Prison Break revival, which first gained momentum when stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcellwere reunited on The Flash (and later, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow), sees Lincoln trying to find his brother Michael, who was presumed dead at the end of the show’s original run.

This brand-new trailer includes a lot of the basic set-up from the first trailer that debuted at Comic-Con over the summer, but there are also some new and exciting bits. There’s more of a re-introduction to the team as Lincoln recruits T-Bag, C-Note and Sucre to help rescue Michael from a Middle Eastern prison. Perhaps the coolest bit is a quick shot that suggests T-Bag is getting a state-of-the-art robotic hand to replace his severed limb.

The biggest takeaway from the new Prison Break trailer is that the “break” may not be from a prison. While the trailer does show Lincoln and his team saving Michael, there’s a much larger problem in the war-torn Middle Eastern country. Breaking out of prison was easy, but breaking out of the country as bombs fall and terrorists roam the streets may be much harder.

The revival of Prison Break, being referred to as season 5, premieres Tuesday, April 4 at 9/8c on FOX.
