Val Chmerkovskiy is having a pretty busy week on social media. Hours after he announced the birth of his nephew, Shai Aleksander Chmerkovskiy, Val went on a multiple-tweet rant. After his new girlfriend, Dancing with the Stars alum Amber Rose, posted a picture of the two kissing, Val reacted poorly to a few of the online comments. People reports that the tweets have since been deleted but Val wasn’t too happy about some people’s reaction to his new romance.
Things started when Amber Rose posted the following picture on her Instagram account, embedded below, of the new couple kissing. Amber captioned it “My Love,” confirming once and for all the rumors of their relationship. The comments on the post are less than positive and it reportedly inspired Val to take to his own Twitter account in anger.
Most of Val’s tweets have since been deleted. According to People.com, however, Val wrote “The hypocrisy. All these bible proverbs and absolutely zero follow thru (sic). All this ‘love’ yet zero empathy. I’m speechless. TBH. Not because I have nothing to say. Just don’t have anything to say y’all capable of understand (sic.)”
The last two tweets in his rant (embedded below) have been left untouched, probably because they are the most positive and vague. Val wrote that life is beautiful and quoted “Love is like war. Easy to start, difficult to finish, impossible to forget.”
Val followed things up with a pair of tweets the next morning. Val wrote, “‘It matters 0% what people who don’t know you think about you. All that matters is what the people who really knowU (sic) and loveU (sic) think about you …and what God knows about you.’ -beautiful advice this morning”
For her part, Amber Rose has said nothing online about her relationship with Val or the reaction that her Instagram post caused among some “fans.” Granted, Val probably said everything that needed to be said.
But what do you think? Should Val have responded to the negative comments about his relationship or just ignored them? How do you feel about Val and Amber’s romance?
Dancing with the Stars will return for season 24 in 2017 on ABC.
