Bachelor in Paradise star Amanda Stanton has finally broken her silence over her breakup with fiance Josh Murray. The couple’s split has been strongly suspected since December but no confirmation was given until now.
“We did break up. It’s been kind of a weird situation because we broke up and we didn’t release a statement, obviously, so I think people have been kind of going crazy wondering if we’re together or if we’re not and we’re not,” Stanton told Us Weekly at the premiere party for The Bachelor season 21.
“It wasn’t something that I was trying to hide,” she added. “I just didn’t know what the right time was to say something or really what to say about it. I think it’s good to kind of set the record straight. Hopefully, everyone can know the truth now.”
Stanton first competed for Ben Higgins on The Bachelor season 20 but was eliminated after the hometown date. Murray, on the other hand, had a short-lived engagement to Bachelorette season 10 star Andi Dorfman. The pair later met, fell in love and got engaged on Bachelor in Paradise season three though their relationship was plagued with criticisms. Following their engagement on the summer dating reality show, Murray moved from Atlanta, Georgia to Orange County to be with Stanton and her two young daughters, Kinsley and Charlie.
Are you surprised about the split? Or did you see it coming?
